A deals and discounts app for Algeria: browse offers, generate a QR code, save at the checkout

Oligo is a deals and discounts platform for Algeria. Shoppers find verified offers of up to 75% off from partner brands (clothing, makeup, restaurants, travel, entertainment) and redeem them in store with a QR code. Partner brands use Oligo to showcase discounts and reach new customers. How it works for shoppers: • Browse offers in the mobile app and generate a QR code for the deal. • The store reserves the product as soon as the QR code is generated. • The cashier scans the code and the discount is applied at checkout. The platform has four parts: • A REST API (Node.js, Express, TypeScript, MongoDB) that powers the mobile app and the dashboard: authentication with JWT and Google OAuth, brands, stores, products and offers, cart and purchases, cashier QR scanning, search, push notifications, ad banners, reports and statistics. • A partner dashboard (Next.js) where brands manage their shops, discounts, ad banners and staff (partner admins, brand managers, cashiers), track sales statistics, and handle reports and support. • The landing page (Next.js), with partner showcase, waitlist, newsletter and partner sign-up. • The mobile app for shoppers.
In Algeria, discounts are scattered across individual store pages and social media, so shoppers miss offers, and brands, especially smaller ones, struggle to promote their deals to new customers.
Built the platform with a small team. I was the main contributor to the backend API, designing the data model and endpoints for brands, stores, offers, QR-code redemption, notifications and analytics, with role-based access for admins, brand managers and cashiers. I also co-built the partner dashboard and the landing page in Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
